Çağrı Haksöz is a professor of Supply Chain, Risk and Operations Management at Sabancı School of Management, Sabancı University, İstanbul, Turkey.  He was recently a visiting research scientist at the Center for Adaptive Behavior and Cognition (ABC), Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Berlin, Germany.  Professor Haksöz taught at New York University, Stern School of Business, Cass Business School, City University of London, UK, and New York University in London. He was an affiliate member of the Regent’s Centre for Transnational Studies, Regent’s College, London, UK during 2011-2015, and honorary visiting fellow at Cass Business School, City University of London, UK during 2008-2011. During the Summer of 2013, he was a visiting scholar at New York University Stern School of Business at the Information, Operations, and Management Sciences Department.

His research interests focus on risk intelligence, supply chain risk, adaptive decision making, and Modern Silk Road supply chains. His publications appeared in Operations Research, MIT Sloan Management Review, Mathematics of Operations Research, The Journal of Operational Risk, The Journal of the Operational Research Society, and International Journal of Production Research among others. He also contributed to international newspapers such as The Wall Street Journal and The Financial Times. Professor Haksöz currently serves in the Editorial Review Board for the International Journal of Emerging Markets (IJoEM).  He served as the Area Editor (Operations and Supply Chain Management) for the International Journal of Emerging Markets (IJoEM) during 2012-2015 and as the Associate Editor for Transnational Marketing Journal during 2011-2015.

Professor Haksöz has been teaching a diverse set of courses such as operations management, supply chain management, risk management, decision models, business analytics, management science, managerial statistics/data analysis, decision & uncertainty, supply chain risk management, global management on the Modern Silk Road, and Ancient and Modern Silk Road:Economic and Geopolitical Power, and Human Welfare for undergraduate, MSc, MBA, EMBA, Executive Levels as well as high school students on three regions of the globe (USA, UK, Europe, Turkey).  He held visiting lectures at Poznan School of Logistics, Poland and Regent’s College, UK. Professor Haksöz, acting as the academic coordinator, taught at the executive education program Myglobe- Managing Your Global Enterprises (co-developed by INSEAD) and  TURQUALITY® among others. He holds a PhD in Operations Management from New York University, Stern School of Business and BSc in Industrial Engineering from Bilkent University, Turkey. He is a graduate of the highly revered Ankara Fen Lisesi (Science High School).

Çağrı Haksöz is a passionate, dynamic, and inquisitive adviser and speaker for national/international companies, start-ups, think tanks, as well as government organizations. As a leading scholar pioneering the concept of Silk Road Supply Chains,Haksöz has recently advised The World Economic Forum for the Strategic Dialogue on the Future of the South Caucasus and Central Asia and EastWest Institute forAfghanistan Reconnected Project. 

His most recent book Risk Intelligent Supply Chainsis available worldwide. In this pioneering book, coining the concept of Risk Intelligent Supply Chain, Haksöz presents the reality-tested “Risk Intelligence Theory” to thrive in the age of fragility and uncertainty. The book provides novel and actionable strategies for risk intelligent supply chains. Third, it shares the wisdom of strategic business insights of thriving Turkish organizations with leaders of a globally connected world.
