Professor Simon Burtonshaw-Gunn joined the University of Coventry in 2017 following nine years at Northampton University as Head of Division where he was responsible for three subject groups in the Business School and awarded the University title of Professor in Industrial Management in 2011. Before moving into Higher Education he has undertaken a range of management consulting assignments in Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, the Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, India, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Indonesian, Bangladesh, the Philippines and Libya. He holds two Masters degrees and a PhD in SCM and collaborative working in the construction sector.  He was been a Visiting Professor at Salford University (Manchester) between 2004 to 2012 and is a Fellow of five professional institutes in the UK. In the Business School at Coventry University Simon teaches SCM to undergraduate and post graduate students including topics of risk management and humanitarian logistics.   He has teaching experience in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ghana, Myanmar, Poland and Vietnam and is the link tutor for three Undergraduate degree programmes which run with the Ghana Technology University College in Accra and is the Programme Director for the MSC International Business degree at Coventry.   Professor Burtonshaw-Gunn has published five books, six book chapters and a number of conference / professional articles on a range of management topics including Supply Chain Management and Risk Management.  He is a Visiting Professor at the Gdansk School of Banking and an external examiner in three UK Universities.
